- Xbox boss Phil Spencer reveals that the Xbox Series X will be very quiet.
- The console will be as quiet as the Xbox One X.
- Gamers are unlikely to care if the console is so powerful.
Speaking to GameSpot, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed that the Xbox Series X has a central fan in its design, visibly seen through the top grate of the console.
What this design does, with the size of the fan that we built around, is it lets us match how quiet the Xbox One X is with all that power inside of the box.
Spencer also said that he is “incredibly impressed” with the Xbox Series X design and how it is powerful without being loud. He also said that he can’t hear the console when he’s playing games.
The designers should get some sort of raise for managing to make the console so quiet but in truth, they didn’t really need to make this happen. If the Scope Quality triangle had three corners with cost, power, and design, it’s not difficult to see which ones Microsoft has picked.
Most gamers won’t know by name the idea of the equilateral triangle but it’s the price that stops them from buying a gaming PC, which could be more powerful than any games console. By buying the Xbox Series X, gamers are accepting the unsightly, boxy design to get access to the incredible graphics and faster loading times of the console for an affordable price. The console is allowed to be loud too because that’s not what most are paying for.
Consoles like the Xbox Series X are probably just going to get louder, uglier, but much better for running games. It is amazing that the Xbox Series X makes as much noise as the Xbox One X, but if gamers and Microsoft want to have the best time gaming on a console, they’ll have to quickly decide that a console’s noise level is unimportant.
