- The guilt of being so far away from his family is eating away at “Hollywood Harry.”
- While his elderly father and grandmother are dealing with a lot back home in Britain, he’s accommodating his wife’s desire for riches and fame in Los Angeles.
- How this plays out will show how much say Prince Harry has in his relationship with Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry is feeling guilty about being so far away from home while his father struggles with coronavirus and his elderly grandparents remain in self-isolation.
While I honestly do feel for him, I can’t have too much sympathy for his plight.
Prince Harry is in an incredibly privileged position
At a time when sons and daughters find themselves stranded on opposite sides of the world from their parents, unable to travel home, Harry is in a very privileged position.
Maybe, rather than catching a flight from Canada to Los Angeles, he should have flown back to the United Kingdom.
Of course, doing so would have required him to stand up to his wife, Meghan Markle. The evidence suggests he isn’t the decision-maker in the relationship.
It’s Harry who has given up his family, his friends, his way of life – and flown across the world to facilitate Meghan’s career ambitions.
Prince Harry is nothing more than Meghan Markle’s ticket to the big time.
Prince Charles’ diagnosis was “a wake-up call” for Harry
According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, Prince Charles’ coronavirus diagnosis was a “wake-up call” for Prince Harry, who has been “overwhelmed with feelings of guilt”:
Despite their ups and downs, hearing that his dad is sick with a potentially life-threatening illness is a huge wake-up call. And he’s overwhelmed with feelings of guilt for not being closer to home while this is all going on.
Again, it’s on Prince Harry for not stepping up and letting his wife know that her plans for Hollywood stardom should come second to his family’s health and well-being.
Prince Harry’s needs will always come second to Meghan’s career
It’s blatantly obvious that until the day comes when Prince Harry says “enough is enough,” his family and his own aspirations in life will always come second to those of Meghan Markle.
The same source claims that Harry is all too aware that neither his father nor his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, will be around forever. Describing a phone call between Harry and Prince Charles, they said:
During the heart-wrenching call, he confessed to feeling beyond helpless, being over 5,000 miles away in L.A. Charles tried to calm Harry down by saying he’s OK and that he’s only suffering from mild symptoms, which slightly helped put his mind at ease but he’s [Harry] still worried. Harry’s admitted it’s hit home that Charles and the Queen aren’t going to be around forever.
The move to L.A. is taking its toll
The big question is, will he have enough courage to rock the PR boat? And ask Meghan Markle to set aside her career ambitions a little? Or is he going to continue on the guilt-ridden path he’s on?
Sadly, Prince Harry is reportedly trying his best to keep in regular contact with the Queen and Prince Charles. But the 8-hour time difference between the U.K. and L.A. is proving problematic.
One thing we do know is that once the coronavirus situation lessens and the lockdowns ease up, he’ll have plenty of time to call his father and grandmother.
Meghan will be busy walking the red carpet and attending fashion events. Hollywood Harry can stay at home with Archie.
You have to believe that the penny will drop for Harry at some point. Meghan Markle has to hope that when that time comes, she’s already taken advantage of the gravitas that Prince Harry has to offer and no longer needs him quite as much.
